Spring bank holiday; Monday 25th May 2020

The following charities received awards from the Tonbridge Lions Club following Triathlon Number 27 on 6 May 2019, in addition, each charity was given five free places for competitors, which in the case of Hospice in the Weald raised over £1,700 in additional sponsorship.

At Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex, our mission is simple. We strive to save lives by providing the best possible emergency medical care.

As an independent charity, we put the people who need it at the heart of everything we do.  None of us ever knows when we, our family, friends or community may need to depend upon this vital service.  So, let’s work together to keep us flying high.

Thank you for your support.

Hospice in the Weald provides care completely free of charge to patients with a terminal illness, their families and carers in West Kent and Northern East Sussex. This means we are there 24 hours a day to help, support and care for patients with an illness where a cure is no longer possible, and for patients who will at some stage die from their illness, whenever that may be. It’s not just at the end of life that Hospice in the Weald can help.  We want to ensure that anyone affected by a terminal illness, whether you are a patient, a family member or carer, has the best possible quality of life from the moment of diagnosis. Counselling and support are an essential part of Hospice in the Weald's philosophy of care.

The sole purpose of Lions International Blood Research Appeal is fundraising for the Haematology Department at King's College Hospital in London, benefitting patients with blood cancers and related disorders, including Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and Myleloma.  Successful treatments, created with the support of LIBRA funding, will go on to benefit patients in the UK and overseas.
